MARCH EMPLOYEES OF THE MONTH
Please visit our website at www.vermilionschools.org to view more information about the following employees who were chosen for recognition this month.

Vermilion Elementary School March Teacher of the Month - Intervention Specialist, Mrs. Katie Cseh. Mrs. Cseh works closely with the other Kindergarten teachers to provide individualized instruction to students needing extra assistance. Her patience and commitment to meeting the individual needs of all students results in their ability to find success at this early stage of their learning. Mrs. Cseh works hard to determine the interventions that will provide the maximum benefit for learning. She makes learning fun and engaging by integrating technology and hands on learning into her lessons. She is patient and caring and her students are happy and eager to learn.

Mrs. Cseh takes an active role in many events at VES. Recently she organized and carried out a multitude of fun activities for Reading Celebration Week. Students in all four grade levels participated in the many activities she set up.

Mrs. Cseh came to Vermilion in 2007. She has both her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Ashland University in Elementary Education and Special Education. She also enjoys being a mentor for new teachers. She and her husband Tom live in North Ridgeville with their two young children Wesley and Eva.

Sailorway Middle School March Teacher of the Month - Mrs. Kelly Pitts.  Visually stunning is the best way to describe Mrs. Pitts’ room.  She has created engaging and informative bulletin boards for her 4th grade students.  This, in addition to her great rapport with the pupils, is why Kelly Pitts has been recognized as our Teacher of the Month.  Mrs. Pitts engages her students by telling wonderful stories that connect to the lesson.  She has a great sense of humor and has a knack for telling the goofy joke that will get her students to laugh and learn at the same time.  She is passionate about teaching and doing the best she can for her students.

Mrs. Pitts went to LCCC and transferred to BGSU where she earned her degree in Regular Education 1-8 and Special Education K-12.  When not working on classroom ideas, Mrs. Pitts loves to garden.  She also enjoys reading and browsing pinterest.com.

Vermilion High School March Teacher of the Month - Mrs. Christine Reynolds.  Mrs. Reynolds is a role model for leadership and community involvement for Vermilion High School students.  At VHS she is the advisor for the Peer Leadership Class, organizes recycling of paper each week, is responsible for Big Brother/Big Sister Mentoring program with Vermilion Elementary School, and works on many other fundraising activities for the school.

Mrs. Reynolds came to VHS in 2006.  She teaches honors social studies, peer leadership and psychology classes.  Most recently she has been organizing the presentation of Rachel’s Challenge, a bullying prevention program.  The community is invited to attend this program on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 8:00 AM or 7:00 PM.

Support Staff March Employee of the Month - Helen Walker.  Helen is a custodian at Vermilion Elementary School and the Vermilion Academy.  Helen is like the "white tornado"!  There is no job left undone in her area.  She works tirelessly and always asks what more she can do.  She helps make VES and the Academy look great for our students, staff and parents.

Mrs. Walker believes that she has a responsibility to create a safe and clean environment for students and faculty.  She feels it is important to be a good role model for students and demonstrate a conscientious work ethic.  She greets everyone with a smile and her positive attitude is inspiring.
When she is not at work Mrs. Walker enjoys spending time with children and grandchildren, bowling and taking motorcycle rides with her husband.
